We had the double room with a comfy bed. The staff was all very amiable and caring. The location was incredibly comfortable and so ideal to the botanical gardens, walk from a train station. Plus it was 135 mins drive from Kandy Lake.

i stayed at city house in sri lanka and it was amazing! lucky, the host, was so generous and even arranged a tuktuk for our journey to sigiriya. he was always quick to respond to our questions via whatsapp. the facilities were comfortable and the room was spacious enough for two adults. the breakfast provided was delicious. the location was convenient as it was close to the railway station and within walking distance of the city center. lucky and his family were incredibly friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. and i can't forget to mention shelly, lucky's adorable dog, who made our stay perfect.
Nothing, it's perfect! 😊

The breakfast selection could use a bit more variety.

The staff is friendly and helpful, providing excellent service. The breakfast is delicious, offering a variety of tasty options. One negative aspect is the shared bathroom, which can sometimes result in a wait for guests to use it.

Our stay at Kandy City House was fantastic! The location was incredibly convenient, just a short walk to the bus stop and train station, making it easy for us to explore the city. The owner, Lucky, was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to assist us. He even managed to secure reserved train tickets to Ella for us, even though they were sold out everywhere else. The rooms were basic, but had everything we needed, and the WiFi was fast and reliable. We also appreciated the cleanliness of the bathroom. we had a great experience and would highly recommend City House for its value and excellent service.

The location of this hostel couldn't be better! It is just a stone's throw away from the train station, making it super convenient for backpackers like myself. Additionally, the staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. They were always ready to give advice on where to eat or what to see, and even helped me navigate the train and bus systems. The best part, though, was the homemade breakfast. The Sri Lankan breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially the amazing Sambal made by Lucky's mom. It truly felt like a home away from home.
One thing to note is that the hostel is located in a back alley, which can be a bit sketchy to find in the dark. However, once you get past that, everything else is great.
